AC Milan 2026/27 away: gold, laurel and a phoenix

Milan's away shirt is white, as it nearly always is. What changed this season is the gold — and the reason behind it.

A laurel wreath for San Siro

The crest sits inside a gold laurel wreath, and the Puma logo is rendered in the same gold. The wreath marks the centenary of San Siro, the stadium Milan has called home since 1926.

The phoenix

Look closely at the white and a tonal pattern emerges across the front and back: a phoenix wing. Puma tied the design to Milan's European history and specifically to Athens 2007 — the Champions League final the club won two years after losing in Istanbul.

The reference continues inside the collar, where two phrases are printed: "Dopo Istanbul c'è sempre Atene" — after Istanbul there is always Athens — and, in Greek, Δύναμη Ψυχής, soul power.

Wearing it off the pitch

White-and-gold is the easiest soccer shirt to wear casually — it reads closer to a polo than to matchwear, especially with the tonal pattern doing the work instead of a print.
